Day 2 Orisson to Roncesvalle

We left Orisson early Friday morning and continued up the Pyrenees travelling from France into Spain. It was a sunny walk but with extremely gusty winds. We stopped at a statue of the Virgin de Biakorri and enjoyed a picnic on the hillside. After walking 17 km we sighted the old monastery at Roncesvalles where we stayed along with 400 other pilgrims. We attended mass at 8:00 pm (where Fran was privileged to read) and we received a pilgrims blessing.
